Rural Home with a Modern Touch

Our client asked us to rebuild their home when their 100-year-old home was destroyed in a fire. They wanted to capture the feeling of a bygone era to which they had grown so fond but with some modern conveniences. They selected a 3 bedroom, two story plan with a central staircase. To capture the feeling of their historical home, we installed footed bathtubs, shiplap accents, stayed true to the historical paint selections, had no modern recessed ceiling down lighting, a wooden front porch, and a raised pier and beam foundation. But the surprise was the modern appliances and cabinetry, a tankless water heater, foam insulation, and a modern HVAC system. The luxury vinyl plank floors simulated the old wooden floors. Our client can once again enjoy rural living complete with their chickens, ducks, turkeys, a pig, milking cows, and family dogs and cats.
